As a notorious wand queen, I didn’t hesitate when FemmeFunn offered to send me the Diamond Wand for review. Instantly curious about its slender, unusual shape, I wondered how and if this toy could compare to other behemoths that share its moniker—or if it was perhaps in a category all its own.
Thanks, FemmeFunn, for sending me the Diamond Wand!
The Basics
Let’s just get this out of the way first: if you’re looking for a traditional heavy-hitter like the Magic Wand or Doxy, you’re lubing up the wrong vibrator.
The Diamond Wand is a slim, insertable toy with a bulbous, pointed tip, and is designed to be used externally or vaginally. It’s quite flexible—in fact, the Diamond Wand might be the most bendable sex toy I own—but doesn’t have a flared base, so don’t try using this one anally.
The Diamond Wand is silicone, waterproof, and, as the name suggests, subtly textured with diamonds across the entire surface of the toy. It also has a whopping twenty-one vibration settings, but just one button. (More on that later.)
Enough about the Diamond Wand’s features, though—you can find all the product specs on FemmeFunn’s site. Let’s get on to the good stuff.
The Good: Accessible, Versatile, and Silky-Smooth
Of all the Diamond Wand‘s features, I’m most thrilled by how accessible it is. It’s light, bendy, and unlike more traditional wands, it’s not disproportionately motor-heavy, meaning that people with mobility issues may be able to comfortably hold it for longer periods of time than other toys. Because it’s flexible and lengthier than your average vibrator, the Diamond Wand can also reach past larger bellies easily.

This vibrator is also quite versatile. Depending on where and how it’s placed, the Diamond Wand offers direct and broad stimulation—or even both at the same time, depending on how you wrap it around your body.
I was also pleased to discover that the Diamond Wand is a great alternative to the bullet vibrators I typically use during partnered sex. My all-time favorite toy, the Iconic Wand, is difficult to slip between bodies during sex—even from behind, in the most accessible position for me to use toys with my partner, it feels stabby and unwieldy. To avoid that bulkiness, I’ve mainly switched to using a rotating collection of bullet vibrators, but the Diamond Wand is a welcome change in the lineup. Its insertable length can also be used as a handle of sorts, which allows me to fully grasp the base and hold the toy in place without awkwardly fumbling around with a slippery, lubed-up bullet.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Diamond Wand’s soft, silky-smooth silicone as one of its best features. When I took it out of the box, I just wanted to roll it back and forth between my fingers forever!
The Questionable: Cost, Patterns, and That Damn Button
I’ll be honest: I think this toy costs too much. The Diamond Wand retails for $89.99 on FemmeFunn’s website. Perplexingly, it sells for much lower, around $60, at other retailers, which I consider a much fairer price.
I’m not actually all that impressed by the Diamond Wand’s vibrations. Out of 21 vibration settings, it only has three steady vibration modes, and I always found myself wanting at least one more steady mode to click to when I was close to orgasm. Given this toy’s cost and number of patterned settings, I’d expect it to also have a little more oomph for those of us who prefer our vibrations steady.
This brings me to my biggest complaint about the Diamond Wand: it only has one button to scroll through twenty-one vibration modes. Once you click forward, you can’t go back. If you’re anything like me and require particular conditions to reach orgasm, accidentally clicking one vibration mode too far and then having to scroll through twenty other settings before finding the one that you liked is a surefire way to kill the mood. The Diamond Wand does have a memory function, which is always a nifty touch, but I’d rather it have an extra button.
The Verdict
All things considered, I feel lukewarm about the Diamond Wand. It doesn’t occupy a coveted spot on the top shelf of my sex toy cart, but I haven’t thrown it into the bottomless pit of my duffel bag of misfit toys, either.
For me, the Diamond Wand serves a distinct purpose: I might rummage around for it when I’m looking for something flexible to slip in between me and my partner during sex, or when the direct, pinpoint stimulation of a bullet vibrator is just too much. Other than that, it’s not my go-to.
Even though the Diamond Wand doesn’t tick all my boxes, I’d still recommend it based on the accessibility features alone. For fat people, people with mobility concerns, and people who can’t hold large, heavy toys for extended periods of time, the Diamond Wand could be a game-changer.
